Santalum album Oil is prepared from the heartwood and roots of Santalum album L. (Family Santalaceae) by steam distillation and rectification. The oil contains NLT 41% and NMT 55% of (Z)-α-santalol and NLT 16% and NMT 24% of (Z)-β-santalol.
